Plan For Life--Plan to Succeed (First of a Series)

Read Second Part

Read Last Part

Just imagine that you are in an airplane ready for take off and then the pilot announces, “Good day, ladies and gentlemen. I want you to know that I did not have time to prepare a flight plan. But you should not worry as I have been flying for more than 20 years now and I know this route very well.”

Even if the pilot knows his route well, how would you feel? Anxious? Uneasy? I myself maybe would feel the same as it is indeed very difficult in flying a big commercial plane from one destination to another. A flight plan should be prepared, where the pilot will communicate with the ground control on what will be required during take-off of the airplane and in coordinating the right altitude in the air, in learning about the weather conditions, and what other air traffic will be within the flying area.

There is a saying, “fail to plan, and plan to fail”; you need to devote more time and effort working on your business, and not just in it, to succeed both as an entrepreneur and as a person.

Remember that there are many variables that can be a factor to the success of a business. Bear also in mind that business planning is very important for success in today’s environment. You may think that the years of experience you acquire will guide you through life and succeed, yes it may happen but rarely; the majority fails.

There are no permanent things in this world except change. The world is changing around you. What is tangible today might not be substantial tomorrow. Seven years ago today who would ever think that the mighty twin tower of New York would collapse in a blink of an eye? That incident served as a huge reminder to all of us that everything might change. It is just a matter of when, where and how.

Having a plan fool proof or otherwise, in all aspect of your life is an indemnity of life’s uncertainty. Even in the unlawful sense the word plan has an aggravated meaning. Do you know the difference between murder and homicide? Homicide, of course is manslaughter but done in inadvertent manner; killing somebody maybe just because you only trying to defend yourself or rage got into your head thereby causing blur judgment. While murder is also manslaughter, only it is executed with a plan--thus incurring a stiffer penalty than homicide.

However you may plan your life, it is always best to graph it in arrangement with God’s plan. This is the only sure way to succeed whatever aspirations you may have in life.
