A Question Whether the Content Scrapers will Affect your Google Ranking

Content scraping, in case you don’t know, is the process wherein other websites will directly copy some links, text or even images from your site to be able to use on another domain. This is such a common practice nowadays. If you are a content writer on the web, there is a good probability that you already became a victim of this. But the question is will this process place an impact on your Google ranking?

Many webmasters at present have that fear that the process of content scraping may have the outcome of bearing penalties because of having content that is duplicated. Well here is a little bit of good news. It is unlikely that you will have any negative impact on your search results position.

Here is a detailed video below by Matt Cutts of Google saying that the scraped content may have a positive impact on your domain site with the site that is scraped giving back links to your site content.

Matt further stresses that Google is always good in deciphering a particular content’s original article source and will not issue a penalty on your site if it finds the content somewhere else. What do you think? How did content scrapers affect you in any way?
