The Top Five Stories of the Technology Decade in ‘00s

Since we are now in the year 2010, I gathered from my readings the best five stories of the decade ‘00s. The decade produced the introduction and increase of usage of social networking till the Google IPO. It became a very significant decade for the innovation of technology.

• Salesforce.com came up with the idea that specific software emerged as a service. In this decade you just don’t purchase particular software. Salesforce increased their revenue to more than a billion dollars a year and all of your enterprise applications may be obtained on demand.

• The top four is the social networking. At the start of the decade we just correspond with each other personally by talking on the phone and shake hands. Nowadays, people use Facebook to poke people, to chat and also send some tweets and network also. It is not believable at all that social networking doesn’t exist at the start of the decade. Nowadays, Facebook is utilized by more than 350 million people worldwide and has been the latest of the game, so to speak.

• To summarize, Larry Ellison who is the most amusing of technological CEOs said at the beginning of the decade that the software market is matured already. Nobody believed him then. At that time you may purchase PeopleSoft and your stickers won’t stick. Thus Ellison purchase PeopleSoft, BEA, Siebel and eventually Sun. Any person that contended with Ellison ended up employed by him. You will always check on the revenues to verify. In the year 2004, Oracle earned more than a little $10 billion. In the year 2009, Oracle’s revenues earned more than $23 billion.

• This is the decade of the Apple period. At the start of the decade, Apple was recovering and in October of 2001, Apple came up with a device called the iPod. • After the Apple renaissance and it was big, Google was even bigger. In the year 2000, Google was a search provider to Yahoo and was considered a big error for Yahoo. Since then world domination started. In the year 2004 and month of August, Google offered their company to the public at around $85 per share and declared that their mission was not certainly to be bad and evil. Nowadays, Google is everywhere: cloud, search, Apps, display of advertisements, smartphones. You name a particular category and Google has it. It was really the decade of Google and is in the top list.
