Knowing NoFollow and DoFollow

There are many forums and discussions already about the nofollow concept and you may be wondering, if you are a beginner, what in the world it is. Or should we do a nofollow or a dofollow? That is really the big puzzle until now.

Concept of NoFollow. Understanding this nofollow concept takes time. This concept, also called do not follow, is a google mechanism so introduced to fight spam and also to enhance the searching quality of visitors and to remove false links. The tag attribute rel=”nofollow” does not give any credit to links that are connected to it and also remove from others the benefit of linking with a high page rank website.

There are fanatics of actual search engine optimization or SEO that makes use of this kind of attribute in most of the links that they have in their site. They are also hoping to have clean tactics and eventually not lose their high page rank. This page rank is valuable and should be taken care of.

Concept of DoFollow. It is actually the exact opposite of nofollow or those site without the tag attribute rel=”nofollow”.

What is the next step then? I would recommend not following everything as it is not the right answer if you should follow the nofollow or the dofollow. The corporate links are not advised to be followed as most of these links are unrelated. Links on those that are related to your blog or better have a blogroll with those trusted blogs or links or link with your blogger friends as follow. In this case, a dofollow should be done.

In whatever case of no follow you do with your blog, it is better to seek out others first just to be sure you are doing the right thing.
